SELECTED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Growing Up 70’s starring Barry Williams, a.k.a. Greg Brady: Off-Broadway, NYC
  • Scenic/Properties Designer in charge of overall look of show and construction.
  • Worked extensively with director, producers, and writers in developing scenic concept of world
    premier of original Off-Broadway musical.
  • Hired, organized, and oversaw crew to ensure quality scenic construction while maintaining
    flexibility as concepts changed in the creative process.
  • Performed all scenic art duties on personal design to ensure the director’s original vision was
    maintained.
  • Produced a quality product in a timely, cost effective manner while on a tight time table.

Angelina Ballerina, The Musical: Off-Broadway, NYC, Toronto, National Tour
  • Scenic/Properties Designer in charge of overall look of production, as well as scenic artist.
  • Worked closely with production team, as well as HIT Entertainment, Int. to develop and protect
    their brand and visually conceive their character in a theatrical light for the stage.
  • Worked extensively with production manager to move the production, after an extended run, to
    Union Square Theater so as to maintain the integrity of the original production, as well as
    recreate the show for Toronto and Tour.

The Aspern Papers, To Walk in Darkness, Pucelandia, etc.: Off-Broadway, NYC
  • Scenic Designer/Scenic Artist for five shows at Turtle Shell Productions.  
  • Worked closely with directors and producer to design quality scenery suited to original, wold
    premier works mounted in a tight performance space.
  • Received high praises and reviews from established theatrical reviewers in the New York City
    area.  

The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama: Manteo, NC
  • Ten years experience on and off stage, as well as in management.
  • Company manager in charge of weekly payroll, artistic budgets, travel and lodging
    arrangements for artistic staff, pre-show entertainment, cast and crew relations, and p.r.
    events.
  • Assisted Production Designer, five-time Tony Award winner William Ivey Long, in scenery
    redesigns and new properties of The Lost Colony.
  • Assistant Technical Director and Scenic Charge, maintaining designer’s original vision as well
    as running the show.
  • Worked within budget constrictions to both balance books and maintain directors Terrence
    Mann and Jane McCullough’s original visions.

Roanoke Island Historical Association: Manteo, NC
  • Resident scenic designer for a five show season. Over 25 shows in a 10 year tenure.
  • Maintained excellent working relationship with various directors and fellow artistic team
    members, including award-winning directors Greg London and Jane McCullough, director of
    the English Chamber Theatre.
  • Designed and brought to life the directors’ vision of each production, managing crews of up to
    sixty actors and technicians, as well as advising properties and costume designers.
  • Assisted directors and writers with conceptual ideas as well as scenery and properties on two
    original works.
  • Acted as scenic charge on all personal designs.

Elizabethan Gardens’ Grande Illumination & Winter Lights:  Manteo, NC
  • Designed a ten acre premier outdoor holiday display for the historic vacation destination.
  • Worked closely with the Executive Director to develop a cohesive product unlike anything in the
    region through historic research and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Closely managed a scenic budget that included personal shopping in NYC, online ordering,
    and on-site fabrication.
  • Managed and taught a crew of fifteen during three week fabrication and installation of exhibit.

Hunter College High School Drama Department: New York, NY
  • Acting Scenic Designer/Technical Director for Manhattan High School.
  • Oversaw work calls with high school students, supervising painting, set construction, load-in,
    and strike.
  • Organized crews during run of shows, as well as supervising students in the booth.
  • Collaborate with department head, teachers, and student directors to ensure a quality
    production in the educational system.

The Centre: Roanoke Rapids, NC
  • Managed newest multi-million dollar performing arts facility in the Eastern Seaboard’s
    Roanoke Valley.
  • Researched, contracted, and booked outside performances for theatre as well as negotiated
    contracts and arranged accommodations such as travel and lodging.
  • Promoted performances for The Centre in statewide publications and around the Roanoke
    Valley as well as designed all advertising propaganda and strategies for each event.
  • Responsible for educational outreach, regional juried art show, advertising, public relations,
    and fund raising.
  • Conceived, designed, and executed successful themed black-tie gala, including decorations,
    planning committee, catering, and entertainment, which raised over $20,000.00 for the arts in
    the Roanoke Valley, North Carolina’s most impoverished region.

Weaver Academy for the Performing Arts: Greensboro, NC
  • Visiting scenic designer for performing arts academy.
  • Design scenery and lighting and assist in building straight plays, musicals, and showcases
    with auditioned high school students, grades 9 through 12.  
  • Give hands-on master classes in scenic art, design, and construction to auditioned high
    school students majoring in theatrical arts.

CHF Industries: New York, NY
  • Project manager/crew chief of showroom for multimillion-dollar textile company.
  • Managed crews in installation and dismantling of exhibits.
  • Scenic artist for special, highlighted areas of showroom.
  • Liaison between showroom designer, office manager, and company C.E.O.

Design Solutions: Dallas, TX
  • Four years of experience traveling with the multimillion dollar Dallas based company to Las
    Vegas, Omaha, San Francisco, Orlando, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Dallas, Kansas City, as
    well as New York, working on seasonal displays and scenic elements for clients ranging from
    Bellagio and MGM Grande Properties to the Mall of America.
  • Crew chief and scenic artist for many high-profile clients.
  • Liaison between project manager, company C.E.O., clients and crews.
  • On-site designer and aesthetic expert for many job sites.

NC Museum of History in conjunction with The British Museum: Raleigh, NC
  • Scenic charge for joint $800,000.00 exhibit entitled The Mysteries of The Lost Colony,
    produced by the North Carolina History Museum and The British Museum.
  • Display advisor for scenic elements used to enhance the 16th century art collection of artist
    and cartographer John White, ranging from Queen Elizabeth I’s court to an Algonquian Native
    American Village.
  • Liaison between museum artistic director and collection owners.
